Advancement
1988: Lakeland Mold was founded
Lakeland Mold was founded in 1988, working out of a state-of-the-art 50,000-square-foot facility in the Brainerd Industrial Park. The company produced cast and CNC-cut aluminum tooling and molds for the rotational molding industry. Throughout its history, Lakeland served notable customers like John Deere, Old Town Canoe Co., Donaldson, Toro, Nilfisk and Igloo.
2014: Lakeland Mold Changes Name to Avantech
After 26 years in business, the company rebranded to better reflect its growing line of services and expanded vision as an innovative solutions provider for the rotational molding industry. Avantech is a combination of “avante,” Spanish for “moving forward,” and “tech.”
2015: Breaking Ground on New Facility
Construction begins on Avantech’s new corporate headquarters and manufacturing facilities, a 43,000-square-foot building on 6.5 acres in Baxter, MN. Later, a second phase of construction added another 24,000 square feet to house the company’s pattern creation, prototype development, and cast-aluminum tooling foundry.
2017: Avantech Recognized for Product of the Year Tooling for 3rd Year
For the third year in a row, Avantech was recognized for the Product of the Year tooling at the Association of Rotational Molders (ARM) Rotoplas event. Avantech manufactured a combination of 11 CNC-machined and cast aluminum tools for Centro, Inc., to produce rotationally molded components for the Product of the Year-winning Intimidator GC1K side-by-side utility vehicle.
2019: Avantech Attains ISO Certification
Achieving ISO certification aligns with Avantech’s goal of standardizing our manufacturing procedures and systems, providing a platform for continuous improvement, and delivering consistent, quality outcomes from our tool-building operations. Taking this important step forward allows our company to better deliver consistent quality and value to our customers.
