Since joining Avantech two years ago, I’ve had the privilege of overseeing the continued investment in Avantech’s CNC machining capability. Having also had the opportunity to meet with many current and prospective customers during my tenure, this investment is directly linked to their feedback and growing need to address dimensional precision, exact repeatability, consistent outcomes and speed-to-market challenges.
Within this short time frame, we’ve grown Avantech’s CNC arsenal to a total of 13 machining centers, including two large Mighty Viper bridge-style machines that allow us to tackle even the largest tool-building projects. We’ve also added four new machining centers to address growing demand in our tool-building and production machining operations, and continue to invest in experienced machining personnel to drive quality, throughput and continuous improvement throughout our manufacturing operation.
At Avantech, our objective is to continuously enhance our manufacturing capabilities with the latest technology to assist us in delivering value and differentiation to our customers. After my first two years with the business, I can confidently state that our capabilities are well-aligned with this objective, and also with our mantra of “Think, Create, Advance.”
Kevin Cook joined Avantech in 2017 as CNC Business Manager, and was promoted to General Manager in May 2018. Kevin brings over 35 years of CNC machining and organizational leadership experience to his role, and has been directly involved in establishing Avantech’s industry-leading CNC machining capabilities.
